Sounds like something has changed with your alarm settings. Take a look in the Owner's manual. It talks about how to change the settings to your liking.

The only time my car beeped once was when I forgot to push the trunk down all the way, but it sounds like you've already checked your trunk. I'm going to have to agree with LaSSt One's suggestion.

Mine does this every now and then, and its always the trunk/hatch. Even though it may be securly closed, the carpeting that goes around the latch gets caught up in there and causes the sensor to think the hatch is still open. Go back there, open your hatch and wiggle the carpeting and make sure none of it is covering any part of the latch. Then close the hatch again and see if it beeps twice.

Thats really odd because mine has always just beeped once when I lock it, and twice for un lock. I always attributed it to cylables. 1 = lock 2= un-lock

One beep from the alarm means that it's only partially set. I had that problem when I had an aftermarket alarm (Viper) installed, and had the system set to leave the dome lights on and dim after a few seconds upon closing the last door. For some reason with the dome on, the alarm still thought the doors were open. and wouldn't set. Weird poop...That one took me a while to figure out...
