i also am experiencing this issue it would seem. i have good oil pressure, so i have ruled out lack of oil. it does remind me of rocker/valve lash tho... interesting that other have the same prob. it is quite noisy compared to other f bodies i have heard around my area. i doubt it is normal. it almost sounds like a diesel engine. uuugggg.
anyone found out possible common probs for this? i have heard that pushrods are weak in the ls1 motors, perhaps the previous owner was too heavy on the pedal...

Re: lifter problems? maybe
I had lifter problems in my '98 Z28...dealer replaced them under my extended warranty around 60K miles. I then developed a VERY LOUD knock/tick at 73K miles, but my warranty had just run out (5 year/75K GMPP). I wanted more power anyway, so I just opted to replace my LS1 with and LS6, so my LS1 is sitting on a stand in my garage and I've had several people that listened to it before I pulled it say they thought it might just be a bad lifter again. I'll tear into it one of these days to find out...

. That constant, light "ticking" noise?
I don't know what it is, but my car does it too
.
