Lid & Ftra Results

I wanted to see what results u guys got from the ftra and lid used together. Let me know if you guys have any dyno numbers or track times before and after. I am thinking about getting the ftra and ls1 motorsports lid from fasttoys website. I already did the free ram air mod. My car is a 98 ss with the m6. I am not sure if I should go with this setup or the K&N fipk or the volant setup.

Here is the volant setup

The probelm is FTRA is basically usless on the dyno, you have to be moving to really make it work. Some have blown fans at the bottom of the car but I think it's inaccurate. You have done the FRA mod so get a lid and filter. If you want power get bolt ons that do that like, heads, cam, N20, blower, headers etc. If these mods are out of your price range for now, then I think the money is best spent on getting the car to hook. Tires, LCA's, shocks, springs etc.

This is my opinion but MAF ends and things like the FTRA are not worth the $ for the HP you get. But that's me and yes I have had MAF ends, MAFT and something similar to the FTRA.

You might only see an 8-10 hp gain on the dyno but at the track its not uncommon to see 2-3 tenths from those mods.

On the dyno, the FTRA won't show you anything, the lid can show anywhere from 8-12rwhp.

On the track, look for a gain of .2-.4

I have both on my car, and I am as happy as a pig in mud

With just the FRA mod, direct flo lid, and dynomax bullet muffler after the Y (dump) I ran a 12.69..... Then I thought I would add the FTRA and eek out a 12.5x but instead I lost 2 tenths and 1.5 mph in the 1/4!!! I tried this combo at the track for a month or more and it never worked for me! Off with the FTRA and bam 12.71 to back up the 12.69.

On the dyno with the FTRA my car only put down 308rwhp!! but I trap at 111.0mph!! I can't wait to get back on the dyno with out the FTRA!
