Leaves.....
Leaves.....
I hope this is the appropriate spot to post this! But I was wondering if anyone has had problems with getting leaves getting drawn down into the blower motor's fan? I got my 02 SS in Aug. of 01 and have had this happen three times.. And it has never been parked under any trees.. I know the leaves get blown away from the trees, but 3 times in just over a year???? My investigation has yeilded they are probably entering around the pass. side wiper opening in the cowl. I talked to my dealer and he simply said, "yeah, we've had several cars do this recently..." He promised to look into it and get back with me... Three weeks ago.. go figure I guess huh.. Anyone come up with a fix for this other than a garage?
So far no problems with any cars. ***knocks on wood***
I don't remembr what it exactly looks like, but I assume you could probably put a screen on top of the opening. I think there should be one to begin with, though...

TS, I haven't noticed anyone posting anything on this anywhere before, but I haven't looked at every message board either! I haven't took the cowl panel off yet to see if there is an easy way to put a screen inside there or not yet.. Just hoping someone had already encountered this and had a solution! I'm not a real big fan of my local dealerships service dept. either.. but that's another story!
i know what youre talking about - happend right after i got it and had no problem getting the dealer to take care of it . since then , when ever i wash it (about once a week) i always pop the hood and clean them all out ..........maybe you can ask them to put some sharpened blades on your blower so you can at least get some free mulch

Ironjet, LOL on the sharper blades.. I did manage to blow out a small amount of mulch where the stock blades did just that! Also about 1/3 of a bumble bee was stuck in the blade... I dunno...
The nice howl the leave infected fan makes does a fairly good job of covering up the roar from the rearend, which is also common in 3/4 ton trucks as was told by my dealer!
I've worked in a body shop for about 5 or 6 years, so tearing stuff apart isn't a big deal, I just hate to do it to my car..lol.. let alone someone that I don't trust putting new wheels on a wagon..lol.. (dealer's crew!)
