Post The Last Camaro?

OKay, I've never really found out. Did GM give up on the F-body? If so what was the last year?
THanks

2002 is the last year, for now. They are no longer in production.

I thought everyone knew this already...

Ok, the F-Body is gone after this production year (2002). The Camaro will be redesigned for 2004. The Trans Am will not be reproduced, which is a shame seeing as how it was the better looking of the two. Instead, the Holden Monaro is being introduced in the U.S. as the Pontiac GTO. This is the T/A's replacement. It has all the same guts (LS1, T56, etc) as the T/A, but a different body.

Replacing the Firebird with the GTO is probably the worst move GM has ever made.

wouldn't it be awesome to get the very last one produced, that's what i thought about when i read this subject. i didn't know that the trans am wasn't coming with the camaro in 2004. maybe that will make new firebirds more valuable.

Yea 2002 was the last year for the greats. Why? I dont know cause I just bought a 2000 last week and it was the only one on the lot (martin burks chevrolet). I had been trying to find a Z-28 for a couple of months with no luck!! So I feel lucky to get a V6 w/ t-tops & auto, and I'm in the process of bringing it up to SS standards. The best thing Chevy did before the demise was to offer the Dale Earnhart Edition 2001, 398 HP LS1. It seems that SUVs' have taken over, but I'm a race head, a Suv cant take a corner in 3rd gear at 80 MPH LOL!!

Since I don't own either, my opinion may be a lil more unbiased, but I like the T/A's a bit more

Actually THE LAST SALEABLE 4th Gen Camaro will be built this week. The Last one will be a red auto fully loaded Z28 Coupe and it will be auctioned off at the upcomming F-body Gathering at Bowling Green on Sept 21st. The last two F-bodies will be red converts a Z28 and a Trans Am both to be kept by GM. After Sept 1st GM can no longer produce Camaro/Firebirds because they don't meet 2003 FMVSS requirements.

As for a 5th Generation there is a lot of info out there stirring but don't beleive any of it. The true news will come in the next year or so. And even when it does come it won't be made publicly. Basicly keep the faith and give this some time.

It seems like pontiac has no idea what they are doing, look at the aztech and a few of the other new releases. Can't believe they thought that thing would sell. As for the Camaro, got any sites ect. where Chevy said they were going to re-release it. I have heard rumors but seen nothing.
