L/T's - Mac, Pacesetter, Hooker, etc. ???

Hey Guys, I'm new to this board and new to F-body modding. Just got a 98 Trans Am 6 speed that is currently bone stock. Planning on doing intake and exhaust work on her first, already looking at the TSP or SLP lid w/ K&N filter so now I wanna decide on an exhaust setup. I've pretty much decided to go with L/T's, o/r y-pipe and the SLP Loudmouth w/ 3.5" tips. I've heard a clip of an LS-1 SS that had Mac L/T's, o/r Y and Loudmouth and I really really liked it alot. So I'm just wondering which brand of L/T's fits the best and is the best quality for the money. Can't afford any that are too expensive, so Mac, Hooker or Pacesetter are my options. And yes I know that L/T's and Loudmouth is gonna be loud, but that is what I'm looking for, I love a nice loud exhaust. So just looking for opinions on the best L/T's to get. Thanks.

Hooker all the way. I love my Hooker Headers, they're pretty good quality for a great price. If you like loud you want to check out the true dual exhaust set-ups. Or just bolt some turn downs onto your Hooker Headers.

MACs are not LTs, they're mid-lengths.

Hooker/Jet-Hot would be my choice, if you're trying not to spend too much $$.

Whoa!! somebody with QTP headers!?!?!? sweet! How do you like your headers? I've been looking all over for somebody with them to see how they liked them, but I couldnt find anybody. People are telling me to get the pacesetters instead. What do ya think?

I have been very pleased with my Jet-Hots. I recently put down 381 rwhp with lid, LS6 intake, ASP pulley, Hotcam, Jet-Hot LT's, X-pipe/duals

My point was that I don't think they are hurting me any.

The cheapest I've seen so far are the pacesetter LTs for 265$ (ebay) . It looks like a great deal, does anybody know if they're worth the money ?

I purchased a set of Pacesetters on a GP on Ls1.tech, 501.00 for ceramic coated LT's,ORY, 02 extentions, gaskets etc. I do work in a shop but I installed these in 4 hrs. start to finish this included a run to the muffler shop up the street to enlarge the end of the ORY to slid over the catback exhaust( they soved this problem after the run I got) and to listen to it with open headers for a couple of minutes. My point is these thing go in sweet, I did not have to loosen anything on driver side or PS. it was a awesome install, the Y pipe was a little bit of a struggle but not bad. No dyno times yet but the Ga. fbody shootout is this weekend so I will see how much they cut off the ET.

Hmmm, so good reviews of both the Hooker/Jet-Hot's and the Pacesetter's. Looks like I'll be pretty safe choosing either one, seeing the good reviews both brands have gotten so far. Keep the opinions coming. And if anyone has sound/video clips of L/T's w/ OR Y and Loudmouth, please post a link cause I'd like to check them out. Thanks.
