Those are the cheapy CumHos, the 712s are the better ones. The original tires are supposed to be Goodyear GSCs or RSAs (depends on rear gears with autos).

I hear alot of guys that run the top end "*** Hos" tires. They have good luck with them.

I do not know about the cheaper tires though.

Actually I thought it did not matter which rear gears w/ autos because Eagle RSAs are the stock I know for 2002 they were (not too sure about 98 - 2001.. But the Eagle GSCs was an option... When I bought my Z28, it had/still has the Eagle GSCs and when I ran the RPO codes, it said that those were an optional tire.. plus my car has 2.73 gears... The local Dealership has a New 02 Convert and it has the RSAs on it w/ same wheels as my car but it also has 3.23 gears as well...

So that must be why my car has RS-A's, since we definitely get all four seasons here.

Believe it or not, they actually worked quite well in the snow!? I was sorta surprised (and relieved) 'cause right now the Z is my only means of transportation to/from work.

'98-'01, the Eagle GA 235/55 was standard and you could opt (for $225) to get the RSAs or GS-Cs (both 245/50).

For '02, the RSAs were standard and you could opt (again for $225) for the GS-Cs.

For the money, Kumho tires are pretty good.

Kumho Ecsta Supra 712's are good tires. I can't comment about the others.

Oh yeah, Victoracres are good too. Just not for the street.

I roasted my F1's in 17,000 miles. BWAHAHAHA!

What can I say? I enjoy rear wheel steering.

Well I am trying to decide which tires are the better tires to buy after my current tires wear out.. How does the Kumho Ecstra 712's compare to Ealge GSCs and BFG GeForce KDWS for wear and traction ?? Seems that the Kuhmo are the better deal for $ 88.99 each from http://www.jegs.com versus $ 110 for BFG Geforce KDWshttp://www.costco.com and even Tire Racks $ 142 for the GSCs..

If you're interested in having traction at the drag strip on street tires, then the BFG's are probably the better choice. I've had the Kumho's on my car for quite a while, the best 60' I've gotten was 2.129.

Aside from the traction problems, I've gotten nearly 34,000 miles out of these tires.

I have Kumho Ecsta MX's on the rear of my corvette, and EMTs on the front.

The Kumho's stick so much better, that it creates an understeer condition rather than oversteer [which I like -- that's why I have this setup].

Look into the Ecsta MX's for your car after you burn up the current tires. They are the best tire I've ever had, and I've gone through many sets.
