Knock sensor plug switch
I have an code on an 99 LS1 that says the rear knock sensor is bad. Where does the front and back knock sensor plugs located. I was going to switch them to see if the code follows.

Didn't really help...
I looked at that link but it didn't really help me any....what I am asking is, is there a connector in the engine bay without having to take off the intake manifold that I can unplug the knock sensors and switch them on an LS1? I want to know if the problem is actually a knock sensor or something else.

Yes, there is a connector in the back of the intake, actually there's 3 connectors be careful which one you unplug. One of the connectors is your MAP sensor, this is one is straight back, attached to the bottom of the intake. If you're feeling around back there and you touch a small vacuum line and there's a connector right below it then that's the MAP sensor. The other one sticks straight up, that's your oil pressure sending unit connector, the last one somewhere back there is the knock sensor harness connector and good luck trying to find it AND disconnect it. More than likely you'll have to pull the intake just to get to it and if you go that far might as well just change the knock sensors.

They are both in one plug so you can't do what you want to.

Kind of hard to isolate without taking off the intake manifold. |
