i have a 2002 35th anniv ed Z28 w/LS6 block and comp from the factory. i was wondering what the acceptable know retard is... last night i ran a live diag. on my predator while my friend was driving the knock retard came up at 2 deg. also when he floored it it makes a pinging noise when the rpms get above 3000. any help would be appreciated. thanks. i also have 57000 miles on it an its a 6sp.

what gas are you running?

could have beenn a bad batch...

was it particularly hot out? or the engine heated up alot?

 

i only run amoco ult. 93, it has done it for a long time now, tryin to think if it does it when its first started up.....i dont think it does but if it gets warm it always does it. what could be causing the KR to come up like that?
