Re: kn breather filter?

that breather tube feeds the Air pump IIRC, so, if you still have it and plan on keeping it, yes, you need the filter

You need a filter to stick into the air tube, but it doesn't need to be a K&N - you can pick up a cheaper one at your local parts store. I zip-tied mine to the eyelet at the top of the radiator, just don't kink the hose and restrict airflow to the pump - you'll throw an SES light.

K&N Part Number 62-1030

The AIR system pumps air into the exh manifolds during the first 90 seconds of startup. It's an emissions system so you really dont need it. You can remove all of the tubing and pipes, as well as the AIR pump, then go into your PCM and tune out the codes. If you do it this way you wont have to use the breather filter.

Re: kn breather filter?

After I plug the air tube with a breather filter what should I do with the hose should I cut some of it off and then plug it or just tie it to something because it just hangs there anyone have suggestions?

No need to cut the hose - you might want to put your stock airbox back on someday. In my earlier post I said I tied mine off to the top of the radiator - shoud've said the eyelet at the top of the condensor. Ran a zip tie around the base of the breather filter, then through the eyelet, pulled it tight so the hose wouldn't flop around or hit anything.

Re: kn breather filter?

Well the proportioning valve is part of the brake system and is located in front of the brake M/C just next to the power steering resevoir. It basically looks like an aluminum box with 4 brake lines going into the top of it.

The strut tower is the tower that houses the strut and is where the top of the strut bolts to the body. If you look closely, you can see there is a small indent in the strut tower next to that 'aluminum box'...this is where I am referring to where the breather fits perfect. You just run the tube under some other stuff and sit it right up next to the proportioning valve.

You can see clearly in this pic where I am talking about

Re: kn breather filter?

I cut the hose coming from the AIR pump about 2 inches from the pump and put the breather filter there. I hate popping the hood and seeing this hose and breather just zip tied to something and looking out of place.
