Question K&N filter installation

Mornin' all...Just bought a K&N air filter for my 2002 Z28. Went to install it and couldn't get the cover off...the clips came off fine, but the back wouldn't lift off, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to get it all the way without breaking something. Any clues or insights??

I haven't been under the hood of a car since the 70's, and DAMN have things changed!!

try pulling the lid towards you. There's a couple of teeth in the back of it that help lock it down.
