iron block 6.0 with ls6 heads

Any one know what hp power a stock 6.0 out of a truck with ls6 intake, heads, oil pump, etc. will make? I'm thinking of replacing my tired old 200,000 plus ls1 in my 98 ta.
I wouldn't mind puting a little bigger cam with a higher stall.

would be similar to a standard ls1 with the ls6 heads/intake. the output is nearly the same from one engine to the other...since the ls1 was underrated.

i'd say maybe 320-330rwhp if you leave the stock truck cam in the block, and don't port the ls6 heads.

seems like i've read the truck heads flow about the same as the ls6 heads...just a different compression and intake runner i think.

now take a stock 6L block, mid 23x cam, ported ls6 heads and you'll probably have a pretty stout performer. and the added few cubes may mellow out the personality of the bigger cam

LQX truck heads flow like LS6 heads. The LQX truck intake actually flows a little better, but won't fit under our hoods.

A bigger cam would be nice with that set up.

Assuming you have the 'good' 6.0L heads, using a good intake you have 450 rwhp potential at your finger tips. It's been done before with the TRak cam.
