Introducing the Masc Performance ported LS1 throttle body!!

Masc Performance Ported LS1 throttle body.

Our throttle bodies are the true definition of perfection. They are hand crafted by our master cylinder head porter Carter Edwards. He has spent countless hours of R&D work on these units, trying hundreds of different combinations until he found the right design which produced the best flow results and the best overall uniform and concentric shape. To make sure every unit performs it’s best, he set’s a standard to which each throttle body must meet before shipment. The throttle body starts out as a production piece and by the time it leaves the shop it is truly a work of art. The production LS1 throttle body, for it’s size is actually quite restrictive. The actual throttle blade is 75mm in diameter, but GM put a lip in front of the blade that measures 70mm to help restrict wind noise from incoming airflow. That lip is the biggest restriction by far, but there are other factors involved as well. The big hole in the upper left hand corner of the throttle body is also restricting the amount of airflow allowed to pass by the blade into the intake manifold. Carter fully ports the lip to match the size of the throttle blade and epoxies the upper left hand hole shut. Then, the holes are drilled in the epoxy for the air/oil bypass and IAC control functions to work properly. After that and some other secrets that cannot be released, the entire inside of the throttle body bore (before the blade) is fully ported and uniformly shaped so that airflow can have the smoothest path to follow into the intake manifold as possible. The throttle stop pad is also ground down so that the blade can open a true 100% or 4.6v…The unit is then cleaned and assembled. This throttle body is a true bolt on, the only thing needed is to install your old TPS sensor, IAC motor and set your TPS to your desired idle speed. Although results may vary, the typical bolt on car can expect a 5-10 horsepower gain at the rear wheel’s while heads and cam car’s or strokers can of course expect more! The Masc Performance throttle body is available through Masc now! The price is $120.00 plus a $70.00 core on your old TB which will be refunded when your stock throttle body arrives at Masc and passes our core inspection. So the total price is really only $120.00!! Compare that to the price of the competition! The LS1 throttle body differs from 98-99 and 00-02 so please specify when ordering.. If you have any questions or want to place an order you can reach us at www.Mascperformance.com , calling our toll free line at 1-877-891-5550 , or by e-mailing Carter at Z28vf@aol.com

Thanks in advance,

Masc Performance

You've definitely got my attention, esp for $120! Do you have any pictures, and do you offer them powderdcoated in any colors? Thanks!

How accurate are you going to be able to be when you grind down the stop? Are you testing them before they go out? Wouldn't be any fun if the computer started throwing an SES code after the switch.

Thank's for the pic matt. Matt's tb was the early design and the first as well...I will have pic's of the updated unit's real soon..there are many updates involved with the new tb's, they are sweet The new throttle bodies are flow bench proven to supply enough airflow for pretty much anything you can throw at them. From head's and cam car's..to solid roller stroker car's..these will feed your need for flow while not breaking the bank at the same time.Thank's,

Carter

Very true..the throttle stop grinding is tested on my own personal car before shipment to read 4.5-4.6 volts and no more than that...When you receive the new throttle body, you will need to swap your old tps sensor over and iac motor and set the TPS to read about .60 volts with the throttle close and 4.5-4.6 open..I guess i could also offer a non ground throttle stop mod as a no charge option..just specify when ordering..Thank's,

Carter

very interested in the TB...

quick question:
"When you receive the new throttle body, you will need to swap your old tps sensor over and iac motor and set the TPS to read about .60 volts with the throttle close and 4.5-4.6 open.."

how is this accomplished? i don't have a digital voltmeter.

Hey Teke,
The hard part about not having a volt meter is the fact that, if I set the TPS for a certain vehicle here, but you need the idle raised up or down some..it would require moving the throttle blade and throwing off the TPS again...but that's how it work's with any aftermarket tb...I could do two thing's..offer an option where the customer could send me their actual throttle body so that the idle setting's and TPS setting would not change for no charge..but that would cause down time...or I could offer a second option with a TPS sensor already installed and dialed in for $30.00 extra...but if your idle need's to be altered it would have to be done by LS1 edit, drilling the tb hole slightly larger,or moving the idle screw and re-setting the tps...that is the drawback with any aftermarket throttle body. but a volt meter can be had for as little as $10.00 at some stores either way, im sure something could be worked out. I am working on an installation sheet now explaining how to set the TPS sensor and an over all installation of the tb..which of course will be included with every throttle body.Thank's,

Carter

so with the $30 extra...this would be a TOTAL bolt on application...

NO adjustments made by me? sounds like a good deal.

how much down time are you talking? a week, 2?
