I'm considering possibly getting an LS1 sometime during the summer, but am worried about the insurance rates. I go to school at Georgia Tech, right in the heart of Atlanta. I've heard the insurance rates of any car there, especially an LS1, would be ridiculous. Can any of you guys tell me how much you're paying and what company you go thorugh. Thanks a lot.

C'mon, one of you guys has to live in Atlanta, GA and be under 25. I just wanna know what rates are like.

 

When I was 19, my ls1 on my own policy was $5500/6months. So roughly $900 a month. However, I had only had my license a year and a half. The insurance agents told me it'd be alot less if I had been licensed for 3 years. The price seemed a little ridicolous to me, so I stayed on my parents policy. It costs me roughly $325/month on their policy. I have an lt1 also, on their policy.. It is $200/month. That was with no tickets. I'm now 20 with one 25mph+ ticket, and no license I'd hate to see what insurance is going to be now. I also shopped around to about 5 different places. With no license, in my dads name the ls1 is $80 a month, and the lt1 around $40/month (liability). The lucky bastard. Good luck. When my license gets back, if anybody will insure me.. I'll get a c5..
