Insurance Rates
Stay on your parents insurance if at all possible, it will save you a ton. Also you could try to be the secondary driver. Another option is to buy a a very cheap car and call it your primarily driven vehicle (insured at a bare minimum) and say your TA is a "pleasure vehicle". I am 19 w/ 1 ticket and pay 160 per month on a 2002 Z28.(still a lot i think).
hey, I'm 18 and live in las vegas. I was quoted $5300 a year on my own. My dad lives in vegas and I dorm at unlv. So all of a sudden he has a desire to buy a camaro
its his second car for pleasure and im allowed to drive it at no additional cost because I do not live in his residence. Maybe this will help. Just think, its cheaper for me to go to school and drive a car than if I were to live at home and drive a camaro and not go to school. Hope I helped.

Yeah, best advice..go on your parents policy if possible!!! Back in my day...Jeeeez i'm dating myself now..but back in 1986 I bought my first brand spankin new Z for $14 k and cost me $3,000
a yaer with an $1200 premium up front so things have not changed too badly.I was 18 then. But yeah $ 300 a month is about right!! Good Luck

Well since we are on the subject of insurance, I also have a question. Within a few weeks, I am going to be getting my winter car. And my Pap thinks I should get it under my own insurance. Right now my Z is under his dealership insurance and I don't have to pay anything extra for it. Now I don't think I can afford my own insurance, but if I told the company that I have another vehicle on a different plan, would they charge me just as much as if I didn't say that??

If I had extendo arms, sure I would use them to steal me some sticky buns. But I would also use them to rescue children stuck in wells!

I'm 21 the cars in my name insurance in my name and I pay $180 a month. But I think it all depends on where you live. One had a good idea saying put it as a pleasure vehicle if you can, I couldnt but my buddy did on his and hes paying half what I am.

Oh man, I pay $1050 a year and i am still pending on two accidents that other people caused that my insurance is sueing them, all fender benders of stupid old people backing upto into it from one of my friend taking the drivers side door offile driving at night with his headlights off to try and sneak up behind me. It's weird looking aqt the door without any stickers. since then my insurance has gone up 6 bucks a year. I am secondary driver on all the cars in the household.
