Installing new Hotcam

I am going to be installing a hotcam this weekend and could really use some advice. I need a good step by step guide. I have some talent when it comes to turning wrenched, but I haven't tried to tackle something like this before.

I have an air compressor, all the tools i need, including a spring compressor and balancer puller, but again, never tried something like this. I have seen the LS1hotto.com article, but I still feel a little nervous about doing this by myself, since I havent done it before. Any help or ideas??

Let us know the results. I think that's going to be my next mod after I finish a few more bolt-ons.

same cam about a month ago, you'll enjoy the experience forget the lifter tool or pen magnets get some tubing either copper or aluminum to keep the lfters up, springs are the biggest PITA, that and the crank pulley bolt more so getting it back on.

Get the longer crank bolt to install the pulley so you don't need a hammer(bad). Nobody in town had one so I ended up ordering one. The balancer install tool I had didn't work with the LS1 either. The threads for the bolt are further in the crank than on most engines. Install is easy, springs are the only hard part.

When you put the pulley back on it doesn't slide on enough for the stock bolt to catch a thread unless you hammer it on (BAD!), so it is better to get the longer bolt, let it catch and use that to pull the pulley on.
