INstalling ls6 cam what other parts ?

INstalling ls6 cam what other parts ?

im installing an ls6 cam on my 00SS and i was wondering what other parts do i need to change with the cam? what parts do you guys recommend? i mena spirngs rods??> i have no clue really. my gramps is doing the cam and he is very capable but i need to get all the parts togetehr first.

You will definately need to change the springs.Throw some Comp 918 on there for safety.You could use the stock pushrods,but i would buy some hardend ones.Other then that you should be good to go.

gaskets,crank bolt,dexcool and springs.you should be good unless youd like to add stronger PRs which arent necessary.you could also add an oil pump and timing chain if you have the extra cash.ive been fine with just ls6 springs.

gaskets,crank bolt,dexcool and springs. My buddy has that cam in his 02 w and went 12.53. It is a decent cam and sounds pretty close to OEM.

I used to run the LS6 cam. I used 2002 LS6 valvesprings and shifted at 6500 rpms with no problems. Other than changing the cam and springs I left everything else stock including the retainers and pushrods. My old LS6 combo pulled very hard from 4000-6500 rpms and was a helluva sleeper but I changed to a T224 for some lowend grunt along with highend power.
