installing Harland Sharp rocker arms

I'm thinking about getting some Harland Sharp 1.8 rocker arms for my 2002 z28. I've got the full range of exhaust and intake bolt ons(lid,CAI,catback,LTs,3.73,tune,ported tb,vig2800)I'll be getting heads and a cam later. Will these rocker arms give me clearance issues on say a tr224? How easy are they to install? Are we talking taking off the valve covers and swap out, or is it more complicated? Any sites with install instructions? Will I need to tune to adjust for the increase in lift? Thanks

^^^ valves?!?! That means pulling heads, dude! Pushrods and springs might not be a bad idea though.

But, what you need to know/find out (which hopefully someone can chime in with an answer) is whether a given aftermarket cam CAN or CANNOT be run with 1.8's. I know that most of Comp Cams grinds don't recommend use of 1.8 or higher ratios (that's just one that I know off the top of my head --- they state right below pretty much every camshaft they list for LSx engines). I'm sure there are some that can work with ratios above the stock 1.7 though.

Tainted will you please not post up answers when you clearly don't know what you're talking about.

To change rockers all you have to do is pull the valve covers and change them.
Changing to hardened pushrods at the same time is easy, just drop them in when the rockers are off.
To change valves you need to pull the heads.
To change valve springs you need special tools and a lot of time.

As far as a cam with the 1.8s you'd have to make sure that the cam will work without having piston to valve clearance issues.

Not only piston to valve clearance, but how steep the ramp rate is on the cam your buying. Running higher ratios on a really aggressive lobe can alter valetrain harmonics. It's better to run the rockers the cam was designed for to be safe. Crane has some pretty cool stuff out now with a variable rocker ratio setup designed to work with some of their cams. You should check out their site before you just up and pick something.

if you're planning a h/c setup down the road, the 1.8 rockers are a waste of time and money.
