Installed Quarter Mile Performance lid...fitment question within

The directions that came with the lid said it would be a very tight fit over the MAF. It was not. The outlet of the lid that slides over the MAF was slightly split. The split is where the lid is melter together on the seam line. I put it on and tightened it VERY tight with the supplied hose clamp.

After tightening, there is a small gap (about 1/16") between the lid and the MAF, about 2 long. I held the lid/ MAF up to the light to see if the gap could cause air to bypass the filter and MAF. I could only see the outer rim of the MAF touching the inner connection port f the lid.

Anyhow, wondering if the lid should be like this. It seems it can be a source for an air leak of unfiltered air straight into the engine without going through the filter! If nothing worse, I could use a rubber sleeve or tape to seal it...but it IS a new airlid.

Any input would be appreciated.

I don't know anything about that lid but I would e-mail them immediatly and if it's not supposed to be like that (it sounds faulty) then I would send it back.
