Installed lid- where does air hose go?

I have a 2002 z28. I installed the direct-flo air lid and connected the iat sensor. There was another black hose attached to the air lid, i guess it's called an air hose, but there was no place to put it. I just unhooked it and secured it in the engine bay. Is there another place I should stick this thing in? Apparently I was supposed to get a filter with the air lid from ls1motorsports.com but I didn't get one, is it still ok to leave hanging?

I wouldn't leave it open. Tape an old sock over the hole or something till you get that filter on there. And then just let i dangle by your ABS box. That's where mine is. Just keep it away from the belts and you'll have no problems. You can secure it to something else in the engine compartment, but it's not necessary.

Get a small circular filter, like a valve cover breather filter. Look to the right of my lid in the pic....
