I'm NOT gonna do this, but...
just a thought....what would happen to the HP, Tq curves and peak numbers if I were to replace the 2001 LS1 Cam with the 2000 LS1 cam? If I understand right, the 2001 makes more tq down low (everything else equal) but is LESS of a performance cam. It replaced the 2000 cam to keep the performance gap wide between the Vette and the Z06 after putting the Z06 intake and exhaust manifolds on the LS1 for 2001. How do you think the hypothetical switch would affect the 2001,2002 motor? Again, I'm not doing this, just am wondering if anyone would have a good educated guess. Thanx

Might change by 5 which way? And, I would think the change would be more profound, I suspect that the 2001 LS1 was close enough to the LS6 in 2001 to make Chevy nervous, or else they would not have switched. I agree it's a waste of time to DO, not to ponder, however!

the only reason the 01-02 cam makes a tad more lower end power is the Lobe Seperation..
otherwise the 98-00 cam is larger in every aspect...
the main power loss in 01-02 is the reduction of spark timing by 3-6 degrees depending on application
