Ive learned a lot about the lt1 but im giving it up. I found a 99 SS at the dealership yesterday and i am going to trade my 94 for it. It has 50k on it, its completly loaded and has an auto. Perfect shape. They are asking 13,995 for it. Good deal?

 

That's what I paid for my car in Feb. '03 with 41,000 miles on it and mine was in good shape too.

With that said, I think you should try to work them down $1,000 if you can, but if you really like the car and can afford it, then don't pass up the opportunity.

also, i have never financed a car before. How much do you think montly payments would be on a 7-8k car loan?

 

A black 99 SS with a auto... well one of us is just going to have to leave.

I think the price is fair but, I agree with working another 1k out of them.

Have you agreed on a trade in amount on the 94 yet? If the dealer knows your intrested in the SS and you haven't agreed to a price yet on the 94 he will wait until your about to sign the papers then tell you your car is worth $2.

 

definitely bring em down....i got my TA in MINT condition with less miles for $12.5K,6 speed.id get them down at least $750...and he had a good point about the trade it...watch that like a hawk.

 

The APR% will come back to how well your credit score rates. If you can get a used car loan for about 5%, then you are looking at about $200/mo for 'x' amount of years. Normally a 7-8k loan will range from 2-5 years depending on how much the loan is for and how long you want the loan. Also, figure in how much extra you want to pay soley to the principle. That will drop some of the time it takes to pay the loan off.
