Ignition key gets "stuck"...
Ignition key gets "stuck"...
My '01 WS6 has an annoying issue. Whenever I put the key in the ignition switch I have to wiggle it to get it to turn. Then the same thing to get the key out. Any idea's?
Re: Ignition key gets "stuck"...
Assuming your key is worn. IF your lucky, the worn key hasn't damaged the lock cylinder; and having the dealer cut a new key from the keycode (not copying yours) will fix it. Over time as a key wears, the cylinder will wear to the key as well. Eventually they both get to a point where the cylinder wont turn at all, or the key may never come out.
If it does it with a newly cut key, then it may need a new ignition cylinder.
OR the shifter/park interlock (if auto) is out of wack (if manual, it has a similiar thing. name escapes me).

Re: Ignition key gets "stuck"...
try a different key, sounds like the tumblers.
Do you have a ton of keys and stuff on your key ring? If so maybe take some off, try to cut down on some of that hanging weight on the ign cyl.
