Idiot light?

Ok, i know the e-brakes in our cars are kinda flakey (at least everyone i know agrees). My e-brake has never worked well. I recently changed the front pads on the car, the rear are only like 6 months old. A few days after....I noticed the BRAKE light on. Then it went away. IT came back, it went away. Now it is on almost all the time. If it is not on, it will come on under moderate braking.

The manual says i have a "braking system problem" and strongly recommends towing the car to a dealership to get the brakes inspected. I know that is . There might be a problems, but couldn't it also be the e-brake handle sensor (the thing that tells the car you released it)?

Anyone had this problem?

thanks

You should check your brake fluid. If the level is low, the brake light will come on.

Yes.. check the brake fluid. If that is not it then there is a chance you might want to take it to the dealer, or someone else that handles brakes.

I would say if it is coming on during moderate braking, and correct me if I am wrong, but it could be a fault in the Brake Switch in the Pedal, could be a bad Master Cylinder or something is going wrong with the ABS system!! I had problems on my project Chev Pick up where my brake switch went out and then my m.c. went out as well..

To Tell if your m.c. is going out or already went out, Hit your brakes and if they hit the floor then I would take it to the dealer and have them look at since everything except brake pads and rotors are covered under warranty..
