Idel Engine Temp for LS1

Just thought I'd share this with the talk often of getting lower thermostats for the LS1. It may have been a better mod for the LT1. Makes a lot of since to me. Later >>>>>

Good article. I'm sure some people will have other opinions. I have always wondered why people thought that their engine would run better at a non-stock temp? I'm sure that GM engineers set all of the internal clearances where they wanted them at normal operating temp. Changing this temperature will change clearances and it seems it could cause a lot of trouble for the 1 or 2 horsepower it is worth. Also, is there a good reason that we don't have 180 or 160 stats from the factory? Its not like they are more expensive, so why didn't GM use them? I assume they had a reason, does anyone know what it is?
