I need some recommendations/help

On monday I will be buying (if it's still available) an '00 z28 w/ 55K miles. It will be my DD and is completely stock with hurst shifter. First I am going to get a lid. I eventually want to add LT headers, ORY pipe, exhaust system and SFC's if I need them. I want my car to have a louder than stock idle sound with no drone and good performance gain. How are custom true duals/GMMG compared to something like SLP LM II or a hooker exhaust in terms of loudness and performance. I know of LS1sounds.com but just find it hard to tell on my laptop. I also really like the idea of an electronic cutout but don't understand how it works. Do I have to get an aftermarket exhaust and the cutout? As far as headers, and ORY pipe how do I know what is compatible? As you can tell I am a newbie. A few last things, do I need the SFC's with these few mods? What kind of a price range am I in for just parts? Parts+install?

Thanks,
Matt

LT's = pacesetter coated
MUFFLER/Exhaust: kinda loud: magnaflow, quiet/ moderate: SLP dual dual LOUD: loudmouth
SFC's: kenny brown DD's (only NEEDED if you have t tops or vert, otherwise just a sturdy optional upgrade)

Get the y-pipe with the headers. The fit is specific to each manufacturer.
Hooker aerochamber is another option for catback. Mellow rumble at idle, roars at WOT.
Tubular subs for every f-body unless you are into roadracing or autocross. UMI has a set up that's unique in that they have a third point of attachment at the factory G-load brace and they don't interfere with the exhaust.
A cutout is put into the exhaust in the I-pipe about under the passenger seat. You can leave it closed for factory sound or open it up for open header type noise. An elecrtic on alows opening from in the cockpit.

My advise as to price would be to go to the top of the board to the vendor index and go to many of the sites with a list of mods and see what they have to offer.

The TSP Rumbler is a great catback for the money, but DO NOT buy a y-pipe from them, they rattle terribly, don't fit right, and the welds on the heat shields on the cats are poor and tend to fall off. Don't make the same mistake I made and avoid this company's y-pipe, trust me.
