http://installuniversity.com/install...sity/index.htm
That website has a pretty good walkthrough on changing out the rotors and pads. I used that as my guide the first time through. The install is actually easier then I thought it would be. The best thing you can do is make sure everything is clean clean clean. I cannot stress that enough. Not clean = squeek galore.
Good luck.

by clean... what do you mean?
should i wash the rotors out of the box before i put them on?
im also using the same pads i have on right now (plenty of life left)
should i sand them a little or something before putting them back in?
if so, with what exactly?
thanks for the links!

I was always under the impression you want to use new pads when you replace/resurface your rotors, but I could be wrong. As for clean, you should buy some brake cleaner at your local automotive store. Spray some on your new rotors and wipe em down with a clean cloth. I think all you need is a 12mm socket & 16mm open-end wrench to get the two caliper bolts off and then an 18mm socket to get the two caliper bracket bolts off. After that stuff is out of the way, the rotor will slide right off the studs (unless it's rusted on the hub like mine was in which case an air hammer comes in handy). Yes, if they're stuck on, beating on them is the right way to get them off. Just be careful not to damage your hub or your studs. G/L

k one thing... soon as im sure its gonna be warm enough... day or and night where i'll never need the heater again for the summer.. i was gonna throw in a 160 thermo...
would it be bad to just take the thermostat out completely? burn up the water pump or anything?

ok cool... thats what i was thinking.... cause just because you have a 160 thermo.... the cars usually gonna run hotter than that (unless its -10 outside) so i figured once it got up to temp... the thermo would stay open anyway
thanks guys

drilled slotted rotors are going to eat up those pads of yours.. I would have another set purchased and ready..
Running without a thermostat is not a good thing.. its ok for limping back to base. .but not for daily driving..
* found on another site.. I concur with this belief
"Honestly, running a cooler thermostat won't benefit an otherwise stock car very much, if at all, and running too cool can actually cause problems of its own! In a similar vein, it's a really, really bad idea to go without a thermostat, whether your car is a Porsche or a Dodge."
* and another site
"running your car without a thermostat will make the water in the radiator and the engine at the same temperature causing the temperature to rise ever so slowly to the point of over heating. The purpose of the thermostat is to keep the engine at a constant temperature, the water in the radiator is allowed to cool the engine when required, the thermostat releases water to flow through the engine keeping a constant temperature"

i dunno man...
it doesn't make sense to me...
i know people who have run without a thermostat... it definatly does not cause overheating... nothing near it... and im talking hard summer driving... in lt1's... so the guage was accurate.
the only purpose of the thermostat is to let the engine get up to its operating temp before allowing the cooling system to start working... (this is so your heater works... etc...) and because the engine should be running at a "manufactors specified ideal temperature" as modification people, and drag racers, we know that this temperature... is not the ideal one

To me it sounds like you have the answers you wanna hear, so run w/out a thermostat.
You will not need new pads to begin with. Drilled slotted rotors are driveway jewelry. Drilled are very prone to cracking. Just keep an eye on them.
