I need more low end torque.....
I need more low end torque.....
Ok guys you read the title now what is the easiest way to get more low end torque out of my 2000 ss. I have a slp lid and slp dual/dual catback. I don't want to spend a lot of money but will do what it takes. And also no nitrous or supercharger I want to maintain natural aspiration. Thanks

Nothing wrong with nitrous

Thanks for all the information that you guys posted I think i'm gonna go with a cam for right. But what size cam should I go with? I have an A4 if that makes a difference on choosing a cam. And what does a stall converter do? I kinda have an idea but i'm not sure. Thanks again for the input.

There are several cams that will give you a nice increase in low end torque. Keep the duration and overlap low and you'll see good results.

converter before cam. you have an auto. you put a cam in and you're still dealing with a low rpm stall converter that's going to soak up the torque to get you moving.
Re: I need more low end torque.....
I want more low end torque to jump off the line faster. I drove a buddy's lt1 and it seemed to have more bottom end torque then my ls1 but from 60 to 70 mph, his lt1 didn't hang with me. I just wanna be able to beat him from low rpm thru high rpm.

A guy I know went from A4 to M6 in his 2000 Z28, and said he loved the low end power put down with the M6 compared to his A4.
