I need more low end torque.....

Ok guys you read the title now what is the easiest way to get more low end torque out of my 2000 ss. I have a slp lid and slp dual/dual catback. I don't want to spend a lot of money but will do what it takes. And also no nitrous or supercharger I want to maintain natural aspiration. Thanks

Gears have to be the easiest and cheapest.

If you want more low end, you'll want to go with more bolt ons, heads, or drivetrain work. Are you an auto? Sticky tires and a big stall will give you great 60 foots, basically the same effect as more low end torque

Nothing wrong with nitrous

For easiest...I would say gears on an M6 and converter on an A4.

Re: I need more low end torque.....

Thanks for all the information that you guys posted I think i'm gonna go with a cam for right. But what size cam should I go with? I have an A4 if that makes a difference on choosing a cam. And what does a stall converter do? I kinda have an idea but i'm not sure. Thanks again for the input.

There are several cams that will give you a nice increase in low end torque. Keep the duration and overlap low and you'll see good results.

converter before cam. you have an auto. you put a cam in and you're still dealing with a low rpm stall converter that's going to soak up the torque to get you moving.

Glad I have an M6 A guy I know went from A4 to M6 in his 2000 Z28, and said he loved the low end power put down with the M6 compared to his A4.

Re: I need more low end torque.....

I want more low end torque to jump off the line faster. I drove a buddy's lt1 and it seemed to have more bottom end torque then my ls1 but from 60 to 70 mph, his lt1 didn't hang with me. I just wanna be able to beat him from low rpm thru high rpm.
