I need help...Anybody have an LT1 front clip on an LS1?
Well I had my 97 Z28 totalled last week and I am about to be in need of a new car.
I would really like to get another LT1 Camaro, but I am not so sure that I can find one that ran as strong as mine did (see the sig for mods and E.T. (which was before the gears and tuning) and I NEED my next car with LOW MILES.
So I am thinking about an LS1 Z28
The only thing is, I DON'T LIKE OR WANT the front clip of an LS1.
The FIRST thing I would like to do to the LS1, is put a LT1 front end on it
I was wondering if anybody has seen or done this before? Do you think it would fit flush if the work was done PEREFCT?
If anybody can help me out with this, that would be great.
Thanks,
Tone

They changed the front end of the '98 because they had to, the LS1 is higher than the LT1, there aint room under the hood of a '97 front end to fit an LS1 without modifying it. Parking an LS1 and an LT1 beside each other, this becomes very obvious... I have one of each in my garage so I see it everyday.
Aint saying it cant be done, just saying it aint gonna be a "simple swap in"...

It shouldn't be real hard.Just get rid of the lid and use something like the old elbow style K&N cold air intake. There are a couple of V6 guys who swapped in LS1's into the older body style. You might want to post on that board and ask around.

Ok, thanks for the replies.
I had thoughts that the LS1 wouldn't fit under a stock LT1 hood, but I also plan on getting a SS hood for it. Maybe a LT1 SLP Ultra Z hood would work even better with the LS1 under the hood, you think?
I'm gonna go and post in the v6 forum, thanks again
