Question I have $3000 burning a whole in my pocket

Hey guys,
Ive visited this site endlessly since I joined jus never posted, read and read yet still dont know what to buy with the money I have. A clutch is a must so Im basically working with 2500 of the initial 3000, I know a few mechanics who will do just about anything for very little charge so long as it is external. They are import enthusiast, so know little about the internals of domestic.

Any way I want to get the most hp as possible with the amount I have, yet nitrious is not something I want to do yet. everything else is game. Thanks oh I have the single-side exhaust would the loudmouth be a significant, upgrade in hp?
sorry so long, your confused f-bod member

I take it your car is stock, so you have a couple different ways you can spend that $$$. The question you need to ask yourself is, do you want better handling, more hp or both? If you want to improve the handling, you can drop a few bucks on BMR...subrame connectors, lower control arms, etc. If you want more power, $2500 should be all you need to replace everything in front of the throttle body along with a good set of long-tube headers & exhaust. If you go with the headers, I would stay away from the Loudmouth...it would be EXTREMELY loud. Don't forget to check for specials or look for parts on ebay - you never know when you'll find a deal. On a side note, if you haven't picked out your clutch already...I'd recommend the STAR Spec clutches. Just my .02

thanks trey and spddemon,
I pretty much figured the longtubes, exhaust and cam, but my problem is also specs. are qtecs better than slp, I have single side exhaust on there. There just seems to be so many different kinds if you guys could recommend specifics that would be great.
Oh and were would I be able to get my cam installed or is that something you can do yourself??
thanks

i would get the qtp headers as there are no clearance like the slp ones, and they are both stainless so they shouldn't rust

Question What about a heads & cam package ?

For about 3K you can get one done - that ought to get you into the ~400 RWHP range.

Being the cheap so & so that I am ( with the wifey's help ! ) I've yet to spend that kind of dough on the car.

A cam installed is around 1K - I'm kinda leaning towards those lines, but haven't quite yet made my million in the stock market or in the lottery ...

BUT, THERE IS ALWAYS CHRISTMAS !

I'd say Lid, Exhaust, SFCs, Headers, Hotcam
