I Got a New LS1

I guess i got a lil bit of an upgrade from my 1991 pontiac sunbird to my Black 2000 Camaro SS M6 T-Tops. This car is so sexy and so fast, I love it. Just wondering if anyone can make recomendations on new exhaust, i want an agressive sound without being anoyingly loud because it is a daily driver. Are any Mods worth it right off the back? SFC? Anyways... just leave any info you think is useful to me

whats up, I just bought a 2000 SS as well a few weeks ago, pretty nice huh, I looked at some black ones but they were all too pricey for me. I'm taking it to the drag this weekend. I just bough SLP airlid for 75 bucks, check out slp performance web page, they have one really cheap due to a blemish that is really hard to see. Any way, they have some sweet exhaust packages there, you and I are in the same boat here, my SS was bone stock when I got it, the best thing to do is definantly be subtle in your mods, don't go overboard, in my opinion if you can't see it but you got it where it counts. I'm looking for a new exhaust too so let me know how your search goes. Later

TSP Lid
SFC
Hooker or Magnaflow catback (You could also just buy the muffler seperately)
Skip Shift Eliminator
SSRA

That should get you started.

I am the second owner. Yes, it was a $450 option. My SS is very stripped down. It has cloth seats, no T-tops, no ASR, and no cd changer. Truthfully I like not having all the BS. ASR could be helpful every once in awhile.

Talking

the build number will be the last four digits of the VIN, camarosource.com has a complete list of what each number means, pretty neat stuff. As for no ASR, its been raining so much up here I wouldn't know what to do without it.

I called SLP Engineering at 248-288-3888 and they told me right away. My last four digits are 9212, and I am car # 3347. If anyone knows, is an AAM cover indicative of having the Auburn rear end?

Thumbs up

Congrats on the new ride! Some nice first mods are a lid and sub-frame connectors. It sounds like a Magnaflow cat-back would suit you well. Good luck and have fun!

I just bought a 2000 SS a week ago and I'm having a blast with it. The previous owner claimed it was stock, but I have since found out it has loudmouth exhaust (prev owner wasn't the first). It sounds awesome but pr'ly too loud for a daily driver.

According to the build sticker, my car also has the auborn. What is that?
