I broke something.

Somehow i broke that sensor/connector (circled in red) The bottom part is still inside that plate and the part that broke off has a spring on the bottom. Does anyone know what it is? Mike, Al? I'm guessing i need a new one now since i don't like to glue things back together.

Ok so i confirmed, it's my oil pressure sending unit. I'm answering all of my questions I found one on ebay, it's a short plug one http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/LS1-o...#ht_500wt_1377

Will it work? I figured it's more convenient because it's short and not 3 inches tall, plus it looks harder to break.

Yeah, its the oil pressure sending unit. The short one is most likely the vette one, and they are very, very delicate and require constant replacement, I know from experience. I would just go ahead and get a new f-body style.

Yeah oil pressure sending unit. Should be able to get one from your local parts store - stay away from the dealer - their list is $73 now. GM PN is 12562267. Make sure you get one for the 99-02, the 98 is a little different.

Yeah i checked out gm parts direct last night and saw that price I just ordered one from advance auto for $35, i'm taking my old one up there to make sure it matches. I'm still trying to figure out how it broke, it didn't happen when i took off the intake but i did find a cat sleeping on the block the other day

2001NBMZ28, i live 20 minutes away from you......Do you know a good tuning shop w/dyno in the area? I'm almost done with my H+C swap and i'm going to need a tune, thanks!

It's usually the intake that breaks them. Just picking up on the front to pop them loose does the job.
