Smile I am now muffler free!!!

I am now muffler free. Here is the story. I ordered a dynomax bullet muffler from jegs the other day to go on my 98 Z28 and I got it in the mail so I decided that I would go to the muffler shop today and try to get it put on. After I explained to the muffler guy how to do this "dynomouth" set up he got to work. After he finished the back half of the exhaust(cut the old muffler out and put a pipe in its place and welded my dual exhaust tips back on) I asked him to start it up before he put the bullet muffler in. That is when I fell in love with the sound. It has a deep mellow tone at idle and when the RPM's start climbing it sounds amazing. It is fairly loud, but not obnoxious, when im not excellerating and keeping it around 1500 rpms its just a little louder than stock but when i get on it OMG!!!!!!!! The muffler guy said it wouldnt sound a whole lot different with the dynomax on. I took it to a friend of mine with a 4th gen and he said it got his adrenaline going just listening to my exhaust! Two of my friends want to try it now on their 4th gens. So i guess I now have a dynomax bullet muffler for sale . What type of tips should i get for my car now. I was thinking of maybe getting some dual/dual tips but im not sure yet or maybe some chrome ones in the rectangle style I have now. The whole job just cost me $50.

Don't you lose low end torque with out any muffler?

I am one of his friends that heard it and wants to try the same thing now(not the one that had the adrenaline rush, he drives a 95 M5 3.4). Might be a little different sounding for me considering I have a 3.4 . Yes he is right, it is relatively mellow at startup, but when he actually gives it gas it sounds awesome.

I did this on my '97 Z28 and it sounded like a damn hillbilly pickup running straight pipes. Does the LS1 sound different than the LT1 without a muffler? Can make a recording of it and post it? Thanks.

I have this setup on my SS. No mufflers, just pipes, awesome sound. I can't post a sound byte, but I would compare the sound to the GMMG chambered exhaust. Except my idle is a little louder (nice rumble) and when I give it gas, it is definately loud and powerful sounding...thus the username, by the way.
mosskeet: If you're looking for ideas for tips, I went with oval tips (again, similair to the GMMG exhaust) and they look great. I'v had lot's of compliments.
