Most people just use it for changing your gears, turn the fan temp on and tire size change. Other then that, the HPP is pretty pointless.

You can change shift points etc, but for the price of the HPP, you mind as well get other tuning that u could really see results from. JMO...

Let me know if you want to buy one. I have a 1998 hypertech I'm willing to part with for 200+shipping and handling. I just received custom tuning . I also have a 99 hypertech too.

I thought that once they were used on one car, they couldn't be used on any other. Like it became permanently keyed to that car. If this is not the case: Wonderful.

Do you have all the paperwork, instructions etc? If so, I'm REALLY interested.

On my 2001 Z28, I picked up 14 RWHP from the power tuning. Dyno proven.

However, once you start doing other mods, you'll probably have to remove the power tuning due to detonation.

14 rwhp?! That's good!

What "mods" would cause detonation problems when in conjunction with the "power tuning" though?? I just got a HPP3 today (in preparation for 3.73's and speedo re-cal), but my long-term plans don't stop there. What type of mod will cancel out the HPP?

Any mod that leans the mix (most MAF mods, some exhaust mods) will cause detonation. Then you'll have to pull the power tuning. Some cars with no mods don't like the power tuning. I had 2 degrees of knock retard on any WOT runs in warm weather with it. So I ditched it and got a Preditor which allows the end user to make small timing adjustments and still run the power tune.
