Thumbs up Hpa Sfc's

I just ordered HPA's new SFC set. They are similar to SLP's but with an added support. I would recommend taking a look at them (hpaparts.com). I should get them in on Friday so I'll post the results of the install. A great outfit to work with though! Oh, the price is right too!

I doubt the extra bracing will make any difference but you never know, let us know the quality of the welds, powder coating, install, etc.

P.S. Will you be bolting or welding them on?

Cool

UPS delivered mine Tuesday. They look to be extremely well made and durable. Can't wait to get them installed. I've already got a nice twisty road picked out to try them on.

I should be getting them in this Friday, at least I hope so. So far I have heard nothing but good things about the HPA's. I plan on bolting them on and checking periodically for tightness. I can't wait to feel the difference that everyone talks about.

I am very interested in these. Are those bolt ons something you can do yourself in your garage? How long should it take? Is ground clearance a problem with SFCs? Is it possible to jack up a single tire to put on a spare with the SFCs on?

I just installed my new HPA's and they are built like a tank. Very Solid. I have about 21K and I bought it new, it feels like a different car so it almost takes getting use to it, but I love the tight feel. I have one question for you guys: When I hit a hard bump I get a pop around where the connector hits the left rear. I'm not sure if the floor board is hitting or if I need to get under there and just make sure everything is still tight after settling in. Anyone run into this?

What torque specs did you use on the different size bolts?

Last night I put them in (bolted) and today I retightened with a 1/2 drive pretty much as tight as I could. Unfortunately there were no instructions. I have here 75 lbs is what we are shooting for. I just went for a spin around the block with no noise and I could swear I was driving on rails! It really is night and day with SFC, I feel like I'm driving a different car!

That's not good, you think they would include some instructions on how best to install there SFC.

The torque spec for the LCA nut is 60 ft/lbs and if you're torquing the bolt end it's 82 ft/lbs. I think if you torqued the large bolts that came with your SFC ( it did come with bolts didn't it? ) to 50/55 ft/lbs and the tunnel brace bolts to 25 ft/lbs you should be o.k.

I assume you had the suspention loaded when you did the install?

It's no big deal about the instructions, I talked with John from HPA over the phone and he went over the install step by step. All the hardware was included and was built as well as the connectors. The process is pretty straight forward about what goes where, I'm very happy with the results.
