how well can a stock LS1 handle a supercharger?

just curious if the stock LS1 engines are strong enough to handle a supercharger like th ati? i know that the LS1 engines are high compression and just curious if the pistons are stong enough to hand lots of power and if the engine will hold up well with the amounts of power from a supercharger. what to u guys think?

Yes, the LS1 can handle it. For how long is the question though. If you don't want to change anything, you can bolt up a 5# system and be fine. Once you up the boost you need to upgrade the fuel system (injectors and pump) Also, you better make damn sure you do tuning, because tuning is what causes all FI cars to go hay-wire. So yeah, if the fuel supply is good along with the tuning, and 5-8# system will go for a while before giving you problems, just depending on how you drive it.

If you want some really great info, go over to LS1tech.com in their Forced Induction section. There is a plethora of info over there, that's where I do my research as well since the D-1SC is the route I'm going in a couple of years.

Yes, it'll handle it just fine. Make sure you go intercooled too.
