How often do you replace your clutch?

I'm not a bit knowledgable on Manual cars since I've never owned one.. (Sadly) but a kid in my Auto class says that you hardly ever burn out a clutch .. now I always read about bad clutches and all that crap from New and Old cars all the time, I could see if it's a truck or a civic you drive to work, but in the case of a Sports Car you take to the track and drive aggressively would you not burn out your clutch alot faster?

Yes,you would burn up your clutch a lot faster if you race your car, pulling hole shots, speed shifting etc,I know,I burned up one in a '71 Vette I used to own once I started thrashing it a bit.On the other hand I know peolpe who have gotten over 100,000 mi on a clutch that drive "normally"
