How much hp can a A4 handle?

I was considering getting a NOS 5177 kit. Thing is it will take me way over 400 hp, pushing 500 (crank). Can the 4L60E take this kind of abuse? Realibility is very important to me as I am not exactly a street racer. I did a search an did not get a straight answer.

I've asked the exact same question a few times. Usually about 400-420 hp-crank. 450 is pushing it a bit. Some people have put more into it, without problem. BUT, that doesn't mean they won't have problems in the near future.

I'm just humming right along ... 403 to the wheels now and over 450 passes total ... but hey who knows it could blow tomorrow... M

I hope it can take more than 400-420. It would suck to be pushing realibility with a few bolt ons.

Thanks for the replies. I guess I'll just stick with bolt ons. Of course now that Z06 cam is catching my eye.
