Re: How much Hp?

How much then I was reading about a ssra it said it dynoed 13hp extra so thats not true ,and the lid is suppose to giveatleast 10hp so all these bolt ons would be a waist of money how much actual hp will I gain?

Re: How Hp?

you need to stop doing "ricer math"

a lid will give a solid 8-10hp i would say, none of that "at least..." crap.

i don't know how you would dyno the SSRA since the car isn't moving on the dyno. you'd need a BIG fan to even come close to simulating the ram air affect.
and 13hp is a bit much i think.

i have seen someone on the board do multiple back to back runs at the track, several with the scoop on, and several with the lower scoop removed (making like the FTRA or SLP kit). he gained a consistent tenth in the 1/4mi.

are you guaranteed to gain that...no...all cars are different. but it IS a good mod.

i would think with a lid and SSRA you should pick up about .15-.2 seconds in the 1/4...
but the thing is you'd need to do several consistent runs THAT NITE...then add the mods and run several more...to be able to justify a gain

something as simple as a head/tail wind can slow you down enough to negate any gains.

I see the term "Ricer Math" is spreading....

Carry on.

But hasn't been very wildly used. Fits so perfectly in these situations too.
