How good are these tires?
Well I need new tires and this will be on a daily driven car. I was looking at the BFGoodrich G-Force TA KDWS. Anyone have experience with these? I want good traction but with a good tread life as well. I can get these for 119 each including install and balancing. Sound like a good deal?
The people who dislike them have never owned them. I love them and have had them on 3 different F-Bodies now. They stick just as good as there KDW's but wear more evenly. They have plenty of bite and the treadwear is awesome.
Given your location there might be some more agressive tires that might fit the bill of what you are looking for. I know nothing of the BFG's you asked about, but I hated the ones that came on my mustang (comp TA's ZR) and have a set of BFG OEM camaro tires, also comp TA HR I think... hate both sets. The tread compound chunks in hard corners, and they sucked tractionwise. for a Z rated tire, they were pisspoor, and I even Liked my RSA-s better than them.
I like my Bridgestones... the 730 is the old model, the new 750 addresses the issue of tire noise without a compromise in traction. I have 17k hard miles on my current Bridgestones (a lot of autocrosses) and they still have 4/32 left. The traction is incredible, except on the dragstrip where the rock hard sidewall does me in.
I also am looking at maybe replacing them with the Yokohama AVS ES100's... those look like a good deal from what I have read.

I have 8k on my Bridgestone 750s. MAJOR improvement over the stock Goodyear RSA. I've heard good things about the BFG KDW's also, and I almost bought them, but went with the Bridgestones instead. The main reason is that I have purchased 8 or 9 sets of Bridgestones over the past 15 years or so for various cars I've owned, and I've never been disappointed in the performance for the price (value) they offer. That being said, you can't be faulted for going for the KDWs if that's what you want.
My advice is to check out the ratings and owners comments on tires at The Tirerack ( www.tirerack.com ). There is a wealth of information there, and you can also get the best prices and service in the free world. I've dealt with tirerack since the mid 80s for all of my tire needs, and I wouldn't buy anywhere else.

i say no to the bfg's i just replaced my second set with yokohama es 100's(awsome tire) both sets of bfg's were great for about the first year and a half, after that they developed a large split on the sidewall about half way around the tire, where the tread meets the sidewall, for the price i say deffinatly go for the es 100's, plus the look alot cooler imo. pics of them mounted on 00 ss rims on page 2 of my cardomain site, link at bottom
Well... I have never owned KDWS's, but currently have KDW's on my car.
Since you live in FL, I'd opt for the KDW's. The abbreviations come from the words:
Key feature, Dry, Wet and Snow.
You do not need the snow capability in FL, I'm sure, so the KDW's will offer you better overall capabilites for the conditions you will mostly be driving in.
I'm by no means saying the KDWS would be a bad tire. Not at all. If you are on a budget, then go with the KDWS's, otherwise you might want to consider the KDW's.
Good tire, either way.

Yea, after a bit of research, I decided im gonna get the KDW-2's. These things look sweet and have awesome traction and good tread wear.
They can be seen at: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ce+T%2FA+KDW+2

Maybe you have different size, though...

Widest on factory rims is 255. I had them on my Z28 last summer but they were on the front since I run drag radials. Traction wise I cant tell you much but they were very tight manuevarble tires on the front gave the car a very good feel up front. I only had them for 1200 miles b4 I got a different wheels and tire package but I sold the tires to my friend who is using them on the front of his Impala SS and they still havent shown any signs of wear.
