Post how to get hard shifts!!

how can i get hard shifts from my brother's 98 SS it is an auto,it is also supercharged i just want instant firm shifts.the car shifts fine when in drive or OD but not when shifted like a manual what can i do????Also what is the best way to leave the line in drive or shifting manual?I want to make the car hook up as well as i can any ideas?

There is no point in shifting manually. The 4L60E is a great auto tranny, and you will get faster times by leaving it in D. If you want to firm up the shifts the best thing to do is get a Transgo Shift Kit.

Definitely get the TransGo for firmer shifts. I have one in mine with all three washers installed (maximum firmness) and it barks the tires in the 1-2 shift at 3000 RPM and above. Be warned though...if it's a daily driver, the hard shifts all the time could get annoying. And don't leave any drinks in the cupholder without a lid on them.

Hypertech tuning will do the job too! No diving into the tranny, just plug it up to the scan port under your dash, follow the simple instructions, and your'e a go for black streaks! Also allows for some timing tune, fuel/air management, and tire ratio changes.

Do you put it in D or OD?It has 3.73 gears in it so I don't want it to be bouncing off the rev limiter at the end of the track.
