How to force A/C compressor to come on?
When we pulled the motor, the A/C sytem was evacuated so we could remove the condensor. Now everything is back in and I need to recharge the system. Problem is, without the compressor running it won't pull the refrigerant through the system.
On my truck, it was just a matter of pulling the plug from the pressure sensor and jumpering it with a paper clip. I tried that on my camaro and found there are 3 wires going to it instead of 2, and no combination of jumping any of them forced the compressor to come on.
Any suggestions? I tried running the defroster instead of the A/C, but it only came on for a second or two then shut back off.

After you installed the condesor did you pull a vaccum on the system (29inHg)? You need to suction the system down to remove any moisture that got in while it was open even if you plugged up the lines. The vaccum helps to pull the initial charge in. If you disturbed no wiring to the PCM or A/C wires then once you start putting the freon in the compressor it will kick on after it initially accepts about 12 oz. of freon. If you did everything correctly then check your HVAC fuse.......What type of equipment are you using trying to charge it?
