A buddy of mine got a 01 Zo6 brand new, first one I'd seen. He ran 12.4@117 with a cai and a ripper. Stock tires...................this is a 385hp car so good luck.

He IS a real good driver but ya cant argue with 117mph WOW!!!!!!!!

this was at Pomona so the track was not a POS either.......

Even with the first round of mods and a stock z06 and a not so good driver it would still be safe to figure on being in the "having your a$$ handed to you" territory.

What did they do to the Z06 to make it so much faster?

Fellas I had to change my 1st rd of mods. Now I have 3.73's , New Auburn HD Posi unit, Aluminum rear end cover, Shift Kit,SFC's, MSD wires and NGK plugs. What should my nest step be Lid or Catback?

For an A4, a converter will give you better gains than anything listed so far. People routinely run .5 sec quicker w/that alone.

that's a good point G4S....but it's also a pretty big item, both purchase price and install.

since it's a new car to him, its not a bad idea to start simple and build your way up to the hefty mods.

Late to the party, but here goes

As far as changing the transmission fluid, check the color. I changed mine recently when I had the tranny out b/c of a clutch replacement. It was dark. I am the 2nd owner and I am pretty sure the first owner just beat on it. For this reason, I recommend that you check the tranny fluid.

As far as beating the Z06...
Hope and a Prayer may not be bad things to add in too.

Re: How is this for first rd

I think i'll hold off on the converter until i do a tranny rebuild or replace. I just ordered a set of LCA's, next will be BFG KDW's. After that I think i can start with a few power mods like the LID,SSRA and Exhaust. Hopefully that will give me enough to win a few stop light runs against the Stang's and lower level Porsche's over here.

The Boxster is big over here, along with the BMW's, Audi's and Subaru's. Basically I want to disgrace some of these Euro Tuners at the Track and on the Street.
