how???

you guys out there that have y-pipes with no cats, how do you get by with inspection??? i know not all states have emissions laws but here in North Carolina we do. how can i get by without cats and still pass inspection??

Put them back on when you go get tested....then when you get home (after they passed your car), take em off. Can't be too annoying if you only have to do it once a year.

or just put the heat sheilds around the pipe so it looks like there is something there. ive heard of that passing, usually the people checking aren't the brightest and don't know any better.

True...but, if NC is anything like PA, that won't work. Some states hook your car up to a machine and actually measure the exhaust to see if it's within legal limits.
