horsepower tv: LS-gun...... lol
what a disappointment. I'd like to see their product list. they replaced an slp throttle body, and replaced it with a similar throttle body...why? and since when do cnc ported heads and aftermarket cam make 360rwhp on an ls1? i'm not sure whats up, but i hope that thing is way out of tune

Their numbers seem low to me, even untuned.
I have personally seen an 02 Z28 with minor bolt ons and Cam (Stock heads, No Headers) untuned make 380 at the wheels. When it was tuned it made 398 at the wheels.
Re: horsepower tv: LS-gun...... lol
I agree. I watched that and I thought was really low. But they did mention that they still had to power tune it yet (with a Crane hand-held). In a few weeks they are going to install and supercharger, so they will probablly wait to tune it after that install.

they were planning to run a SC...and i thought i remember them saying they were installing pistons to lower the compression.
so a H/C and lower compression could easily account for the low HP

Re: horsepower tv: LS-gun...... lol
with the compression lowered, small cam, mild ported heads nad a welfare tune from a hand held programmer i think the numbers are definately in the ball park, wait till the s/c is installed btw all the performance work done by these guys makes the car fun and dependable, not pushed to the ragged edge!
on another note i wish i could start a project,go to lunch, break for a commercial just to come back and button it up as well as drive it!

Re: horsepower tv: LS-gun...... lol
well, the headsa were cnc ported, so u know that had to be a good port. hopefully, it's a small blower cam. i think they said they made compression around 9.7:1 or something maybe 9.5. i have no idea though. just tryin to remember. gm high tech's blue t/a is making 347 rwhp or somewhere close, and thats with minor bolt ons. for that car on hp tv to even run, it'd had to have had a PCM tune. if not, it wouldn't have ran very well when dynoing or driving to break it in. sorry, but why buy a hand held programmer for like 450 bucks, when u can get a whole pcm tune for 250 on an ls1? sometimes, those guys believe in the handheld tuners a little too much.
Re: horsepower tv: LS-gun...... lol
Its was ported heads, cam, full exhaust, lsx intake, there planning to install a blower in a few weeks....I thought the numbers were rather low regardless if it was tuned or not
Re: horsepower tv: LS-gun...... lol
They said it was a dynojet. Their main folley is reyling on handheld tuners instead of a custom PCM tune. Of course Crane and Hypertech pay them big bucks to pimp their products
I think that is what is wrong with this show. They are held at the mercy of their sponsors, so they'll use their sponsor's product, even if it means that it is inferior. Pimping products also cuts down on doing real innovate projects IMO.

Re: horsepower tv: LS-gun...... lol
its funny to hear people say it should have made more power!if you ever build a motor with the hp #'s they claim every part (performance part)is worth you would have a 700hp motor that will only run hi 11's.i think what they did was cool wont break the bank or leave you stranded in a DAILY DRIVER.

yea exactly, that point is definitly key. if its going to be a track car only, sure... but they build these things that average joe blow could have some fun with and drive to work every day...some people miss this
