What is the highest horsepower you have seen in a Camaro Z28 or SS and the highest hp on a C5 or Z06 Corvette? Ive heard of like 800 hp is that the most or have you seen better???? For Street Cars.

 

I don't know what you consider a street car, you didn't say street legal. If just being able to drive the car on the street makes it a street car then my friend is building an '02 Camaro(not really but that's what it's going to look like, '98-'02 Camaro body) that's going to have a lot more than 800HP. His intentions are to be able to drive the car on the street. It won't pass the sniffer but it's going to have working headlights, wipers, etc...

I have seen a C4 on the internet with about 1300 hp that was street legal.

There is also a guy in Florida with a 7 second street legal Viper.

 

Legal in Florida doesn't mean much.

 

there was this guy in NJ that had a street driven supercharged 4th gen convertable pushing over 600 hp+ at the wheels.. it did 10's.. George was his name? I don't know what form his car is in now.

There's probably a decent number of SC'd and a few turbo'd 4th gens putting out 500+ hp and still are comfortable and relatively reliable drivers.

Its one thing to put out mad hp on a straight liner car thats "streetable" - i woldn't want to line up against one and wuold be a hoot to cruise arond in... but not sacrificing any comforts and reliablity, i think makes a real killer "street car"..

My dreamsetup would be a Z06 with a conservative 450 rwhp 7.0L LS6, oiling system, various coolers, drivetrain, and brake upgrades. Plenty fast, handles great, reliable and worry free.. but expensive..
