Higher temps with Loudmouth?

I had the SLP LM & Y-pipe installed 3 1/2 weeks ago and I've been noticing that my engine is running 5-10* hotter on the highway than it was before (when I only had a Flowmaster muffler), and as soon as I get off the highway, it immediately jumps to 210*. Has anyone else noticed this? I know it's probably a stupid thing, but I'm just curious if it's a common thing or if I've got a problem somewhere.

im probably wrong but you might have a leak and its re suckin in all the hot fumes from the y-pipe area. I had loudmouth before and it never made my car hotter.

My temp never changed with the LM. I have read in the forums that the temp gauge is horribly inaccurate though. You might want to investigate your cooling system...

on 98 LS1 F-bods the gauge is accurate. In 99 (I believe) they went to the inaccurate gauge.

I have the Loudmouth, and I'm not running that hot in the Florida heat. I'm normally around 180, 185

I figured it wasn't due to the LM, but maybe more of an installer error. As soon as I get the clutch replaced I guess I'll be back to the muffler shop.
