Post HELP - squeaky suspension

Hey, has anyone had any experience with a squeaky suspension ib bumps, in a 1999 camaro SS with the 6 speed manual? Its not terribly loud but is annoying. As far as I knew, the joints were generally sealed and I couldn't find any general maintenance grease points in the service manual. The car is about 3 years old, and has about 18,500 miles on it so i certainly hope the shocks aren't going. Could it be control arm or sway bar bushings or anything like that? I would appreciate any suggestions, I hope major work isn't required.

Just a WAG (Wild Azz Guess) , but have you tried any silicone spray on the lower control arm bushings ?

Also, are you sure it is suspension noise & not a squeak in the hatch, or in the spare tire ??

Just some points to ponder - Good Luck !

My '98 has the same problem. It's REALLY bad during the winter! If I go over a speedbump, it sounds like a rusty hinge opening and closing on the front suspension and then the back as it goes over the bump. It's been doing it for years.

Ah, yes. This little problem gave me seizures for 2 weeks. Turns out it was the bushings on the rear sway bar needed to be swapped and lubed. It was a service bulletin, so have your dealer hook you up. Just make sure the bonehead running the lift knows where the lift point are. You would think the dumb@#$ would know. The jack@#$ lifted where the quarter panel attaches to the frame. GGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRHHHHH!!!! Goaliedave went off. Sorry. Hope this helps.

Question

I have 16k on my car it does the same thing. It definately comes from the front there is no spare tire or jack in my car. Do you think the dealer will take care of it. I still cant find where to look up the warranty. Someone told me it was 36k warranty on the car. BTW does anyone know of a link that lists what the warranty will and will not cover?
Thanks,

Sorry, dude. The service manager is the one who told me about it. I wouldn't know where to start looking.

Wink

I went to the dealership yesterday to setup an appointment. They said they have a permenant silocone that would stop the squeek. They knew about the problem on our cars.
