Exclamation Help please!!!

if you saw my prior post i was looking at a 98 camaro z28, well i bought it. Second day driving i went over a speed bump, they are terrible here, and scratched the bottom going slow it was just to tall. Well shortly after a bracket of some sort came out, Not sure if its related but i think it is. The bracket does no have a part number though. Only markins say V8 and next to that it has a p inside on a c. this bracket has a piece that looks like it lides in or on another piece and then mounts to something but not sure what, as of right now i have no way to post pics. I have some in my cell phone though so i can send them to anyone willing to look. thanks in advance.

Sounds like the torque arm mount to me...it bolts to the back/side of the transmission.

Does it make a clunk sound now when you hit the gas?

Jack the car up (not on the oil pan) and look for the long arm going from the side of the rear axle to the back of the transmission. If its not that, just look for something broken.

Send me the pics from your phone, there's alot of "brackets" underneath the car, it's almost impossible to tell with the description you gave.

Ok just got the pictures, that bracket keeps your Y pipe from moving/vibrating. If you crawl under the car on the passanger side, look at your Y pipe and it will have a flat metal bracket, that piece you have has a rubber mount with a slot in the middle for the piece of the Y pipe to slide into. When you slide it back on just look for the correct holes to screw the bracket back into place.

Look at the mount and see if it's ripped, the bracket could of just gotten loose and slid out of the Y pipe. You'll be ok driving around with it, actually to be honest i don't even know if mine is on there or not.
