Hey guys,

All my mods are listed in my sig.... i'm trying to decided wether to do LT headers or 4.10 gears.. what will get me in the 12's.

I don't want NX or a cam package...I'm also going to stick with the F1's.

If it was a daily driven street car, Id do headers and leave the gears alone. That would equate to better gas milage and most likely better driveability all around.

LT's + Loudmouth will probably be very loud though.

Talking Nice

The louder the better.. ... do you think LT's and my mods in my sig could equal high 12's with a decent driver?

What times are you running now? How close are you to hitting 12's? What are your 60' times?

My '01 WS6 has given me a best of 13.3 so far, and I'm still a rookie having only been to the track twice (about 20 passes). I know my car has 12's in it as it is, I just need to practice. I expect to see 12's this spring.

Mods are in the sig ....

Actually the reopening of our track is the 28th of this month... it will be my first run...

I see alot of guys on here with similiar mods running low 13's.. I'm a decent driver... just curious on what ya guys thought...

I've been practicing my lauches and I got it down to a science on the street with the F1's... hopefully I have the same luck at the track...

If i run low 13's (13.3-13.1)... with Lt's should it drop me enough to enter 12 range?

Well I'd certainly run the car before I ask for help getting into the 12's! With a lid, free ram air and catback you could get lucky and pull a 12.9. THe car has the power to do it stock.

Where do you live? That makes a big difference on how many mods you'll need to get into the 12's. I got a 12.9 in my car with nothing but a cutout and a lid. With 4.10's you're gonna have a lot of traction trouble off the line on street tires, so I'd go against those. Do you have a cat-back? Headers don't do much by themselves. You'll also need a new y-pipe and cat-back. If you get new headers, and put them on the stock y-pipe, it won't do anything since the free-flowing headers will just hit the pos y-pipe and you'll lose the flow there.

I know you say you don't want a cam, but I don't see why not. That outta get you into the 12's. Just get a mild cam, maybe even an LS6 cam. Thunder Racing makes an "Old Man's" cam, which is rather mild.

Oh well, up to you though.

With the SLP lid, 4.10's, and Supersucker I turned 12.75 at 110mph. I just installed long tubes. I don't know if I'll get a time with these before my cam comes.

With a direct flow lid, and a dynomax bullet muffler I ran a 12.69 at 111.0 on the F1's with a 2.00 60' I have since put some nitto dr's and got better 60's mid 1.9's but have yet to improve my e.t. The nittos are making my clutch slip at the track, but they work perfect on the street.(the nittos)

And no, Iam not power shifting or dropping the clutch @ 3500rpm. Just slipping it @ 2800.

I will be going to the track for the first time to test the LS1 on the 28th.. tonight was the official opening.. but I had to work too late.

with my mods and a good lauch im hoping for a 12.9 ... I've really been practicing the launch and I found her sweet spot...

the loudmouth catback exhaust I have on.. is loud... with the LT headers.. she should scream .. anyone have this combination or a sound clip?
